Lovely, Sturdy, but Open the Windows
I love this shelf unit. It’s high-quality, sturdy, pretty, SO EASY to assemble, and just right for my space. The reasons for only 3 stars are these. First, it was packed with a shocking amount of styrofoam and other non-recyclable materials. Ouch, not good for the earth, LL Bean. Second, it emits that odor — paint? glue? — not sure what it is but almost two weeks after assembly, it’s still noticeable, even with open windows most days. Glad I purchased this in the summer so I can air out the room as long ad it takes for that odor to fade away.

Another great purchase from L.L. Bean!!!
This bookcase is an attractive addition to my bedroom. It was easy to assemble and conveniently comes with a small screwdriver to put it together— nice touch. It’s quite solid and sturdy and I feel it will serve me for many years.
