For over 80 years, we've been making our authentic Scotch Plaid flannel shirts the way we always have: better than everyone else's. Our exclusive flannel fabric is meticulously woven with longer-staple cotton, which means the individual cotton fibers are about one-quarter inch longer than short-staple fibers, making a huge difference in fabric strength and quality. Then, it's meticulously brushed eight times on each side and given a "touch test" by a master weaver to declare it soft enough.

Softest flannel shirts I have found for my husband. He loves them and he now probably has at least 10, not including the two I just got him for Christmas. LLBean needs to make more designs so I can get him more, although they last a long time.

Sorry LLBean, The quality of this flannel shirt is a far cry from the numerous Flannel shirts I have purchased from LLBean in the past. This cotton is so thin! It's flimsy compared to LLBean flannel shirts I have purchased over the years including one just last year. The quality of the material (cotton) is just not there.

Nice color saturated flannel.
Slightly dressy flannel, will be perfect for the Christmas holidays. Deep color saturation. Needs a few washings to soften up to a comfortable level. True to size, does not shrink when washed.

Typical LL Bean quality. The color on this "black watch" plaid is deep and rich. The "slighty fitted" gives a sharp look without being too tight, even for a guy with a bit of a gut.

Far too large
The shirt is huge. All LLBeans shirts fit like an oversized pillow case -- square in the body and too long. I've worn a size Large in every single other brand, except LLBean, which clearly thinks all Americans are built like mattresses. Would not recommend.

OH JOY!
Every LL Bean product from boots to flannel shirts have always been to top quality.
Example, my books are around 50 years old, they strong a pin hole leak many, many years ago, sent them back to LL Bean, they put new bottoms on them FREEOF CHARGE.
Who could ask for more!

Love these shirts!!
My husband has worn LLBean flannel shirts for years and the quality is always excellent. They last and last!! We were in the store and saw the plaids, some of them new. He couldn't decide between 2 plaids and guess what?? I told him to get both and we did!! He's already worn one and it looks so nice on him. LLBean never disappoints.

Was a little big when it arrived. Washed it once in warm water, let it air dry, and now it fits like a glove. I wash this only in cold water and let air dry now. Its forming nicely to my body and I get compliments from strangers.

Kinda perfect
Kinda perfect. Not too heavy, certainly not too light. Soft and expertly crafted. Darn fine looking, too. I own ten and I wear them every day from October to early May. Dare I say it? Bean's Scotch Plaid Flannel is the finest shirt ever created.

Physical pattern has changed
I have others purchased several years ago, I love them. I ordered new ones but they cut from a different pattern and are larger (same size ordered, same style, same color). Bummer. Returned them. But at least my older shirts are still functional even with slightly tattered cuffs.
