Improperly sized and badly designed
There are several things wrong with this belt. The beveled edge makes it look and feel flimsy. The flat tang in the buckle looks cheap, and is hard to insert in a hole without looking. The sizing is ridiculous: I expect the nominal size to be the distance, in inches, from where the leather meets the buckle to the middle hole. In this belt that measurement is two inches more than the size. I had to have a cobbler punch two more holes to make the belt usable.

sadly, another "not like the original"
As others have said, the tang is thin and cheap feeling with sharp, uncomfortable, unfinished edges. Oddly the edges of the leather are beveled instead of flat. Length and width are as stated.

Belt does not have stitched edges like previous.
Instead of having finished edges they're beveled and stained black. Poor appearance and a CHEAP way to manufacture a belt. Previous similar belt purchase had stitched edges and was high quality. Don't make your products cheaper, I buy them because of the quality. I returned this belt because it was UNACCEPTABLE!

Not full-grain leather
I just received the belt in the mail and initially it looked okay. The colour was a little bit darker than in the images online, but the biggest issue is that is is not full-grain leather! It clearly says on the belt "genuine leather" (much lower grade). Really disappointed to see the product did not match the description.

Same belt different buckle
Leather is very fine. Smooth and supple. This is my third belt in the last ten or twelve years. It is exactly like my previous two belts except for the buckle which has changed in design….much cheaper I believe, and it discourages the faith I have that any future products will be cheapened by a lowering of your standards.

Not like it used to be
Purchased this to replace a 10-year-old version of the same belt. The leather on the new one is about half the thickness, not stitched, and the buckle is a cheaper version of what it was. I guess this is just the way of the world, and Bean is no exception.

Well made, solid belt. My only negative comment is that belt sizes are usually based on measuring from the center belt hole (commonly, the middle of five holes), and this belt was 38" long if measured from the second hole, not the middle one.
