Cashmere Crewneck Sweater
I bought this for the color (Larkspur) and the fabric: I am cold for seven months of the year, so I wear wool / cashmere sweaters every day. The color is true to the on-line and print pictures, but the fabric does not have the loft and softness of cashmere sweaters from other retail companies. It's more of a functional cashmere sweater than a luxury cashmere sweater, but I accept that because L. L. Bean is not about luxury. I bought it to wear with a suit for work (which is not an activity that L. L. Bean products are intended for.) Because it does not have the usual loft of other cashmere sweaters, it will be a flat, thin but warm, colorful layer under my jacket, which is what I want.

Cashmere Sweater
I had this sweater on backorder 4 months, and hoped to receive it in time for a trip I had planned. It arrived the day after I left. The real disappointment is in how thin the fabric is. It’s nearly see-through.. I’ve been buying clothing from LLBean for 40 years, and have gradually seen the quality of merchandise go from superb to mediocre. I never minded paying more for garments I knew were made with quality fabrics. I used to have LLBean garments that lasted 10 or more years. I’m still paying more, for less quality.
I’m keeping the sweater. I’ve been wanting a cashmere sweater for some time. The color (lavender) is beautiful, and I like the fit. A good cashmere sweater should last a long time. We’ll see how this one holds up.

Best sweater ever!
I wear this sweater from fall until spring, layering easily with play clothes, work clothes, dress clothes. I am NEVER cold in this sweater and it always looks just so! I wreck them, which results in me reordering every couple of years. (shrunken cashmere looks great on kids and keeps 'em warm!) I've tried other colors, but the black just works with everything. I think this is my 5th time ordering over a couple of decades. Best ever!
