Remarkably good blankets!
These are lightweight and surprisingly warm little blankets, used for throws, travel blankets or extra small blankets in bed for a cool sleeper, in this case my disabled husband. The genuine plaids are lovely, and the fringe adds charm without really getting in the way. The best part, though, is that I can confirm that they really ARE machine washable and dryable. My husband often isn't able to get up to go to the bathroom, so we tend to change bedding fairly often during the day. We have 4 of these blankets, and they get washed and dried often. I washed one of each of two colors a couple of times before even taking their mates out of the plastic envelopes they're shipped in. To my amazement, I couldn't then tell the difference between the washed and the unwrapped versions -- no diminution in size or in color. Unbelievable. They aren't quite as soft as some wool blankets, but their washability makes all the difference. And they are thin enough that they wrap easily around the wearer, while dense enough that they do provide an extra degree of warmth surprising for their small size. Not everyone may want the feel of a wool blanket.., but if you do want the form, fit and function, this here Stewart tartan is definitely the one you'll want to get. I love it.

Very nice wool throw! Highly recommend!
Very nice wool throw. I wanted to wash it before using and it washed beautifully. I used delicate wash cycle and very low heat to dry. I got the navy check. Colors also very nice and the navy did not fade. Would highly recommend.

Nice wool couch blanket.
For those accustomed to lambswool this blanket might feel a little stiff or "scratchy", as I have read someone else refer to it, but as someone who is accustomed to using wool blankets, I think it feels fine. I use it as a couch blanket for watching movies and I think it is comfortable and very warm. I am a long way from washing it, but I will be curious to see how the texture changes after washing. The weight and construction are very good.
