This exclusive flannel shirt is woven just for us by true artisans in Portugal. These expert craftspeople meticulously brush our Scotch Plaid fabric eight times on each side to create a long-lasting material with that distinctive smooth and cozy feel. But that doesn't automatically make it plush enough. It still needs to pass the "touch test." Only a master weaver can declare it soft enough.

Careful of shrinkage if you're average size or tal
I typically purchase petite sizes, and my first Scotch plaid that I bought from LL Bean was a medium petite. It shrunk, and while it still fits, more or less, the sleeves and hem feel a bit short. I have chosen medium regular for my second and subsequent purchases of this shirt, and they fit quite well after washing in cold water and machine drying. I've had the same results with T-shirts. Beyond the fit/shrinkage issue, the fabric is a nice weight, comfortable, and keeps me warm when it's cold. The plaid choices are nice, as well.

Warm and cozy but long
Great colors for fall And it's nice and warm And cozy. Even though I order a large most of the time because I'm wearing another layer under it this is quite long.

The softest flannel ever
I was put on a wait list for this shirt but it was worth it. It is the softest flannel shirt I have ever felt. I was able to wear it on a cool Spring day and it was just perfect. True to size. I will enjoy wearing this for years to come.

Disappointed
I was disappointed in LLBean the first day I wore the shirt. The fabric pilled right away, which is unusual for LLBean flannel shirts. I will keep the shirt because I love the plaid colors and the good fit.
