Nice jacket!
This is my fourth barn coat, my first two had the removable insulated lining that I loved!! It also was a bit different styling, gusseted arms and different pockets. My last two are the flannel lined one, while I like it I wish it had the warmer lining, making it more useable in colder weather. The hand warmer pockets are not very deep and the lower pockets have to be unbuttoned and buttoned to use which makes them more difficult to use.The cut is more flattering which I like. Overall I like the jacket just wish it had some of the older designs. Great jacket for spring and fall. I would definitely buy another when this one wears out which takes a long time!

A longer coat than the 1924 Field coat.
This is a beautiful coat. What my wife liked most was the coat was longer than the 1924 field coat and covered her rear end, not that it is unsightly. I liked it so I purchased the men’s version for myself.

Sooooo Disappointed!
I've had one of these coats for 35 years. It has a warm (removable) lining of quilting AND flannel, quite LARGE hand-warming pockets that can also hold a pair of gloves etc., and two other large pockets below those. I replaced it about 2-3 years ago with another Barn Coat in Khaki. The hand-warming pockets are TINY (and I have small hands), but it has a nice, warmer quilted lining so I kept it. Recently I ordered another Barn Coat in Loden and couldn't believe the difference in quality. It not only has the same TINY hand-warming pockets, but the lining now is only very thin flannel (thinner than a shirt)! It's basically just a canvas shell, not a mid-warmth coat that it used to be. I don't understand why L.L.Bean keeps changing, downgrading such items that used to be of better quality. I don't know what to do with it at this point as I really don't want a coat that I have to wear a heavier layer under. I just wanted the same coat as before that I can just slip on over what I wear in the house knowing that it alone is going to keep me warm enough. So disappointed.

Beautiful color, boxy fit.
Had hoped it would be perfect, but it was too boxy for me. I ordered both the medium and large, as I’m 5’10”, 155 lbs and normally order tall sizes, but this jacket isn’t available in a tall. The color is beautiful and the material, both inside and the lining, is comfortable. Barn jackets are usually roomy, but even the medium had way too much room. I’d love it if this jacket were available in tall sizes.
