Disappointing
These garment dyed shorts look twenty years old after initial laundering in cold water. So much dye rinsed out that the underlying grey color of the fabric shows through, not only at edges, but other areas too. The look is faded, mottled, and cheap. They are many shades paler than the deep blue when I received them. I have owned many garment dyed clothes in the past, but none has lost so much dye so quickly. These are fifty dollar shorts, but they look like ten dollar cheap discount clothing.

Excellent shorts.
I love these shorts. They are slightly lighter than the Allagash shorts, with few pockets, but the wear well and feel great

Good shorts but awkward button flap closures.
Good quality shorts though heavier than I would consider them tropic weight. I give these shorts only a three star rating and would not recommend them because of the button flap closures. The button closures are awkward and more difficult to use than the snap closures on similar L.L.Bean shorts.

You’re Killing Me Here…
I’m a 38. Bean, apparently, isn’t. I ordered the Tropic Weight Cargo Shorts in my size last year, they fit perfectly. This year, they’re too small, and not a little too small. I also ordered the Allagash shorts last year, again fit well. This year they’re too big. Way too big, as in probably a 40. C’mon Bean, figure this out. I’m looking at a 3.5-4” differential between 2 pair of identical size 38 shorts I just purchased. I buy clothes from you for consistency. Not just quality, but size too. I want to order something and know with confidence it will fit. Just not possible right now with these shorts. You need to fix this and fast.

Good shorts
The shorts are very well made, should last a long time. The fit is good, however the leg openings are too big and appear as baggy. It would be nice if they were trimmer in the leg.
