A Rare Disappointment
I ordered this umbrella to use on a recent trip to the Maine coast. It is a beautiful looking umbrella with some nice features but when closed and in the carry sack it is incredibly long, surprisingly heavy and very unwieldy -- consequently I left it at home and made do with our old one. Also the carry strap on the carry sack is only a thin strip of fabric and the stitching at one end had already given way at one end. At the very least it needs a sturdier, woven strap with shoulder cushioning. I have ordered from LL Bean for years. This was a rare but significant disappointment.

Ultimate Beach Umbrella
This umbrella can’t be beat! The vents let the wind pass through and the strong sand screw anchor and sand bag system keeps it upright. It is the best beach umbrella that I’ve ever had.

Great design
I dont own this but was just recently in Maine at Popham Beach. LL bean had a shipping container with gear to use for the day and saw many people use these umbrellas. My umbrella kept blowing away in the wind while this one seemed sturdy and didn't blow around at all. Definitely will be purchasing one soon.

Great Quality and gets the job done!
Bought this for trips to cape cod, and the umbrella is rock solid. The sand bag is an extra piece of the kit that helps hold everything in place, even with high gusts of wind!
