A LITTLE TIGHT/SMALL WAIST
SIZING RUNS SMALL! I WEAR LL BEAN 36" BLUE JEAN, STD CUT, BUT FOUND THESE SHORTS A LIITLE TIGHT. RETURNED/EXCHNAGED FOR 38" WAIST AND THEY FIT FINE.

Great Shorts
Great fit, wears well and the material is cool during hot weather. The shorts pair well with LL Bean polo, tropic weight and tee shirts depending on the event. I wish they would make the plain tropical weight shorts again for dressier occasions.

I always wore the 6" comfort waist .....
I always wore the 6" comfort waist even though it wasn't really needed . Great short, long life , good looking , comfy . Then one day I found the shorts didn't come in my size anymore . I'm a size 30-31 waist and my pants are 30 Length . Any thing over 6 or 7 inch inseam is silly . Now the smallest waist is 34' . Sounds like discrimination against those of us of smaller stock .

Dye bleeds, but the shorts are still acceptable
I have a lot of experience with these shorts. Prior to 2024, the shorts were manufactured in Malaysia and were terrific. In 2024 the country of manufacture was Vietnam and the dye was terrible. Not only did the shorts appear "marbled" after washing, but the dye stained other garments in the wash load (even after quite a few washings). You can find quite a few reviews that complain about this issue. On to 2025: now the country of manufacture is Sri Lanka and, although the dye did bleed onto a clean cloth that I put in the first washing to test the bleeding, the shorts have not seemed to continue to bleed subsequently (and surprisingly the stained cloth came clean on a second washing). The 2025 shorts are very slightly marbled after washing, but I only noticed this because I had been sensitized to the much, much worse appearance last year. So, net-net, there is still an issue with the dye, but I consider the 2025 version of the product to be acceptable.

Great Fit!
I've purchased these cargo shorts for years from LL Bean. The main reason is the fit; especially the length. I can wear them without having to alter them. Big plus!
