Snow sled.
Purchased the larger sled. Light weight, well built but rope tie through front board needs to be in stronger location for pulling 2 kids. Great for our Down's boy that enjoys the snow but doesnt like the uncertainty of a single man open sled.

Poor design, difficult to pull
LL Bean must realize that many of your customers don’t live in the sticks with a ton of snow that stays around, and gets packed like pavement. For those of us in urban and suburban areas where people obsessively shovel snow, the most you have is 1/4 inch or half an inch of snow on the sidewalks. The round metal rods on the underside of the tracks cuts through thin or unpacked snow, and drags on the pavement. The only place you can effectively pull the sled with ease is on the streets on which cars have packed down. Even on talker snow, the steel rods cut through the snow, and make the sled sink. On well packed snow it glides effortlessly, but this isn’t feasible or safe. There should be an urban version of this sled with flat track covers which are essentially something like sheet metal in order to protect the wood, but also help it slide better in aforementioned conditions.
Second. The sled is too low to the ground. If you pull through slightly taller snow, it becomes an issue, because of it being so low to the ground.
Third. The string is too short. As you’re struggling to drag your kid through the snow, the short string forces the front of the sled up so with every step the front end of the sled is bouncing up and down.
Fourth. The available cover. The way it attaches to the sled is rather poor. The quality of the cover is good however.

We love it
We bought the small version; at least I think was the small for our toddler around 1985. After he outgrew it, the sled was boxed and put in the barn! Now it's 2019 and we just got it out for granddaughter who is 30 months old! In great shape and we are awaiting our first Montana snow season in another couple months! I would recommend this, we had a lot of fun with our young son at the time, and it's quality is great! I hope it gets to be used it with our future grand child! Very high quality!

Love It!
We no longer put up a tree, so I am using this little sled to hold Christmas presents. It looks festive and unique; I wish now I had bought the larger one to hold more presents! I can pile them around it, though, and it will still be perfect. Maybe years from now it will actually be used outside as a sled. It looks very well made and sturdy. It will become a family heirloom. We had one of these sleds 30 years ago and the only thing wrong was after 30 years the curved backrest slat cracked. Bean replaced the sled with no issue but when the new one arrived the quality was not nearly the same. The metal runners were loose and the fasteners that had been recessed on the original were raised and could snag clothing. I returned the sled with no issues. Great customer service.

Great quality!
I purchased this for my 1 yr. old granddaughter for Christmas - and just in time for the BIG snow we just experienced! It was perfect and big enough for her to share rides with her little cousin. I think they even sent you pictures of the two of them enjoying the ride! We all love the sled. She'll be able to enjoy it for several years. Do wish I had gotten the one with the cushion as it doesn't seem that I can purchase a cushion separately - only a cushion cover. We still love it!

A fantastic Sled
We bought this for our 10 month old Grandson ,who lives in Pennsylvania. We knew this would be perfect for our daughter to pull him around the neighborhood. They came for Christmas and we gave him the sled. Little did we know the first time he would ride in it would be on the beach where we live. I was able to see him take is first sled ride!
