What a favorite, comfortable flannel shirt! The deep tone, red plaid, the workmanship and weight are all excellent. it is a keeper! However, I would have preferred the boyfriend look not as baggy and broad shouldered. Usually I wear a size small; this would have been better one size down.

Boxy and shapeless
This is not a great shirt. Usually the Signature line from Beans has better tailoring. This shirt is boxy and shapeless. The cuffs have only one button and the wrist opening is big so it is very loose around the wrist when buttoned. The plaids do match up and the sewing is good, the design does not work.

Black Plaid? Whoo-hoo!
Perfect color blend! Black plaid flannel for women is soooo hard to find. This one looks sharp! Thank you LLBean. You are my go to company for stylish, comfortable shirts. I typically wear them open like shirt jackets over short or long sleeve t shirts. Warm, but not too hot. Though I would really appreciate paying less, I think the price is fair because of the quality.

I got midnight black. I like the relaxed fit and the two oversized front pockets. The fabric is not as smooth/soft as the Scotch plaid flannels, but it is a little heavier. Black buttons would be nice, even better - snaps

Soft and warm flannel ...
I purchased this lovely flannel shirt in cream and in blue. It's so soft and warm! I love the dropped shoulder seam which allows enough room to wear a sweater or sweatshirt underneath without restricting movement. I also love the colors of both shirts! Hoping that LLBean will soon be offering this wonderful flannel in the red and olive green colors in petite sizing. If they do, I will be first in line to purchase both colors!

Petite sizing off, but high quality flannel
I buy shirts and jackets from LL Bean for the petite sizing and quality. This shirt seems way off in the sizing, more like a "regular". The sleeves are very long, with no extra button to make cuff smaller, the shirt length is almost too long to be concealed by my LLBean sweater and sweat jackets, and the neck diameter is very large. The dropped shoulder seams only add to the "too big for petites" issue. I'm exchanging the petite medium for a petite small in hopes it will be OK because the black pattern, pocket design, & fabric quality are very nice.

More room than needed.
A bit roomier and boxier than I had hoped. The description did say this was the fit, however I think it’s more so than needed (especially in the shoulders and sleeves). This makes wearing it under a gilet unflattering.

I ordered a petite large and Petite extra large in the Deep blue. The shirt is very well made and the stripes do match! Very nice fabric. Problems- the sleeves are at least 3" too long on both shirts. They come down to my finger tips. The shoulders are way too wide. Not crazy about the pockets on the front of the shirt and they have flaps which are not neccesary and you would have to undo the button to get your phone out.

Unflattering cut and runs very big
Even the XS was wa-ay too big, and with a boxy unflattering cut. I usually wear a 4-6. Very disappointing. Returned it.

Pricey but A Cut Above
This is unusual. As other reviewers noted, black flannel isn't common. Even more special is the herringbone column in the plaid design that looks great and gives the piece a classy menswear feel. Of course the shirt works for all the outdoor purposes LLB promotes, but it's also true that the design and quality of the fabric make it appropriate for a casual city lifestyle as well. Small touches such as the yellow stitching inside the band of the collar to keep it straight and the fabric hanging loop confirm this is a high end piece. That was reinforced to me after I washed the shirt and the fabric remained wrinkle free and the color stayed dynamic. I am sure this will hold up over time. I'd say it is an example of the old saying: "you get what you pay for."

Fantastic shirt, medium weight flannel, very comfortable and super well-made. I love this black plaid as it goes with everything for fall and winter. I might order another one. Did not shrink in washer or dryer. Absolutely love it.
