Our essential crewneck sweater is both classic and comfortable. In an ultrasoft midweight blend of 95% cotton with 5% cashmere for a luxurious feel.
We designed this versatile crewneck in a smooth, machine-washable cotton blend with a bit of cashmere for noticeable softness. Midweight construction in a melange knit makes it more substantial and perfect for changing seasons.

Totally BEST SWEATER EVER Award goes to LL Bean!
This is just the best sweater! I bought it in the toasty tan, and loved it so much, I decided to get the navy after all. And then, after careful consideration and some Bean Bucks, I decided the grey is probably a wise choice, too! I actually exchanged the textured cashmere sweater for two of these because (hard to believe but true!) I think these are even nicer and will get more wear.
I find that for petites at LL Bean there are so many things that are too long or cut in some other way that doesn't work and/or totally ratchets up the Frum Factor. This sweater is the opposite. It's just the right cut, modern enough to be fun without being trendy or trying too hard, the fabric is stellar, the navy is a rich but brighter one that the navy in the cashmere. It's comfortable with or without a t under (and now that LL Bean is out of Saturday t-shirts, this is a good thing). I hope that this will stick around for spring and come back in sea salt and aqua and pink and butter yellow -- you know, the colors that always sell out. If they do, I'll be first in line.
In my recent exchange, I also swapped for an orange and chalk blue in these, so I'll report on those colors. Not sure either will work for me, but I had to try. That's how much I love this particular sweater. I live in the PNW and wear sweaters 10 months out of the year. These are the ones I'll wear the most.

This sweater was what I wanted, a toasty brown color, the cotten-cashmere is the weight I expected and will be warm over a shirt or turtleneck. I like the wide ribbing, will turn up sleeves when working in the kitchen and turn them down when reading. I have a long back, and this length is fine, not a tunic and not too short.

The weather has been too warm to wear this yet. I think I’m really going to like it because the weight of the sweater is a little heavier and the fit is a little more generous. I like the sienna orange color—something a little different from my other sweaters.

The Perfect Sweater!
This sweater is perfect! The color is rich. The fit is correct. It's a little longer in the back, has slits on the side. Mid weight makes it great for fall. You can dress it up or down....just love it!

Great winter sweater
I love this sweater. I'm 5'1" and 130 pounds with short arms and the small petite fits perfectly. The knit is very dense, giving the sweater a good winter weight and lovely drape. Cozy and incredibly soft, and just right for chilly weather. This is my third L. L. Bean sweater in cotton cashmere and I'm looking forward to seeing more styles.

Devilishly wonderful sweater!
Just received this sweater last week and it goes beyond my expectations. I'm a huge fan of Bean's cotton cashmere sweaters, but this one is new, different and fabulous. Yes it is shorter in length, but unless you're super tall, that shouldn't be an obstacle. It would be just the thing with today's high-waisted jeans or pants. As for me, I'm somewhere between 5'1" and 5'2" so after reading the reviews I did order it in a regular xs. The length in front was perfect - hit well below my waist - while the longer length in back made for a slimming silhouette. I also didn't find the bust area to be too constricting, but if you're worried about it, wear a minimizer bra. What is really special about this sweater however is the material. Boasting a bit more heft than Bean's other cotton/cashmere sweaters, it offers elegant warmth without being overbearing. All in all, this is one of my favorite sweaters and one that'll take you from fall to winter and early spring in stylish comfort.
