Nice bag with lots of pockets
This bag is a little bit smaller than my previous bookbag, but it's working out OK and fits more snugly against my back. I think when I am on the bus it's better because it doesn't stick out as much. I just wish the very front pocket would be longer as there are some things I would like to carry there that don't fit. I do like that the pockets start about the same height, it makes it look more smooth. There is a zipper pocket inside one of the other pockets that is too low when the pocket it's inside is full, would like that zipper closer to the top of that section, but the pocket itself is a good size for stashing things like masks, which is what I am using it for. I mainly use this bag for commuting to and from work, and with another bag for grocery shopping.

Great middle schooler’s backpack
Thoughtful details make all the difference! Not too many pockets it’s excessive, not too heavy before loading that it makes it bulky. So far so good!

Bookbag for my high schooler
Great bag. It’s big and comfortable and the color compliments a lot of things. The only thing that I’d change is the very bright teal inside lining, it really throws things off.

As sturdy as I remember from my own childhood
My son's high school textbooks are enormous and heavy, and he rides his bike to and from school. I remembered from my childhood the sturdiness and durability of LLBean's backpacks. The new generation of LLBean backpacks is just as good as I remember--but now they can fit a laptop.

strap up front looks juvenile
I bought this for my son in college and did not notice the strap that goes across the chest when I bought it. It looks like something for young child. We cut it off. Otherwise backpack is nice.
