Excellent shirt
I only mark this down a star because I dislike snaps. Otherwise, fit is properly generous to wear as a light jacket (can wear over a vest, but layering a mid-weight sweater is snug in the elbows).

Wool Field Shirt
I wear this as a winter shirt with a tee shirt or turtleneck underneath. It is warm but soft and comfortable. I do not use it as an overshirt. Fit is as expected. The shirt requires dry cleaning. I likely will purchase another shirt in a different color/pattern if available in my size..

My new favorite
I bought this before fall season started and I find myself going straight for it every time I go outside. The fit is perfect for me I’m 6’-2” 215 pounds ordered a size Large Tall and it was perfect fit. Fabric is soft and warm I’ve used it as a mid layer too and no problems, very versatile shirt/jacket.

Perfect backpacking shirt
I'm shocked by the other reviews of this shirt which is why I'm writing this one. This is THE SHIRT I've been searching for with outdoor activities in mind particularly backpacking. People have complained about the snaps instead of buttons. I love the snaps, so easy to deal with when taking a shirt off and putting it back on several times a day during a hike as you heat up and cool down. Another complaint was about the lack of hand pockets. This is not a jacket people, it's a shirt and does not need hand pockets. It's a similar weight to a standard flannel shirt of which 98% don't have hand pockets. LL Bean, please do not change anything about this shirt it is perfect the way it is!

Light weight
I was looking for something heavier....it's way too thin, practically see through.
3x fit me well. I would think twice about buying again we will see how it wears.... but considering it's very light weight construction, I don't have high hopes.
If your looking for a light weight wool shirt...
I think you will be happy with this shirt.

Great shirt, ‘tall’ size isn’t tall enough though
Quality is excellent, and I really appreciate having proper wool flannel in solid colors. Sleeves and torso are cut weirdly short though. Average height folks should probably order the tall, and tall folks might be better served elsewhere.
