Our twist on a classic, with authentic cable designs from the Aran Islands. This washed quarter-zip sweater is made from crispy cotton yarns that are substantial and reach further into the seasons than traditional wool.
We chose densely-knit cotton yarns to give our quarter-zip cable sweater three-season appeal. It's more relaxed than traditional fisherman sweaters, offering supreme comfort and easygoing style.

Beautiful sweater except ugly zipper pull
LL Bean has a penchant for rustic, ugly buttons and zippers that don't match their more refined pieces. The dark brown zipper teeth and suede zipper pull they use in this intricately-knit, beautifully pink sweater really bring this sweater's appearance down. (In the sweater I received the zipper teeth and suede pull are not the golden-brown pictured; they are a dark Crayola crayon brown that don't harmonize with the pink grapefruit yarn.) Why would one take a clunky zipper and a chunk of shoelace and make them the distracting visual center of a women's sweater? How about a matching zipper with a piece of matching parachute cord instead? If you want to wear this sweater camping it's fine (except that it's 100% cotton); if you want to wear it to the office on casual Friday you might want to look elsewhere.

My new favorite sweater!
This is my new favorite sweater! It's slightly fitted but loose enough to afford comfort. The pink grapefruit color is beautiful and sparked interesting conversations about whether it's more pink or orange (peach). Very comfortable and warm. Great for spring, fall and winter.
