FIRST QUICK HIKE.
Good basic hiker, but I think I'd choose something more heavy duty for technical trails. First hike was on Makah tribal reservation to Cape Flattery, Washington State, the most extreme NW corner of the Lower 48 states. Trail is only about a mile each way from/to the road, but downhill/uphill and crossed by millions of slick exposed tree roots, also plenty of loose small stones ("marbles") plus slippery/mossy rustic boardwalks over marshy areas. We did it better than flailing tourists in joggers. This shoe's tread rubber surface is slippery until scuffed in on a dry abrasive surface, like walking on concrete for a while. The tread pattern cleared itself of dirt, pebbles and mud when I walked around on a clean surface, no scrubbing needed. The woods were just damp so have not tested waterproof feature yet.

Expected GREAT and they were better than that.
Comfortable and resilient from the get-go. I ordered these for a multi-week trip to Europe. I normally take a 10-1/2 and that was my order. They were COMFY and very sturdy. I often wore them for the full day, which is unusual because I typically love to be barefoot, but that wasn't a good option. Absolutely NO issues with these and I now expect them to last for years.

Not consistent fit with my first pair
Purchased pair in blue and like them. Bought a second pair in green and the shoE created a pressure point on my big toe.

Great shoes for Africa
I needed a pair of relatively light weight but sturdy shoes to wear on safari in Africa. These shoes were perfect for my needs. They had traction, not heavy, and water resistant. The color was also great as it did not attract insects. The price was also reasonable when compared to similar does by other vendors. I highly recommend them not only for trekking but also for all outdoor, backcountry activities. Get a pair!

Excellent quality and comfort.
Excellent quality and comfort. I give them 4 instead of 5 stars because they are difficult to put on and off. Restrictive tongue. I use a shoehorn. Grippy laces difficult to untie.

Great shoe
Bought them for city and countryside walking for vacation where it rains a lot. They were perfect, dry, and very comfortable. I almost always wear a 9, but 9 1/2 fit better. I got used to the green.
