My husband bought a pair of theses last year and has been wearing them almost daily. t
The elastic is strong, the ties stay in during the was, and they don’t fall down.
He has a small butt and most pants do. He can’t get pants with a 35 inch waist so he settled for these.
liked them so much he asked for a backup pair.

Draw string is a thin shoelace that either keeps coming undone or you have to double lace and need a tool to untangle it.

Good pants, shallow pockets
As others mentioned, the pockets are way too shallow. This is the compromise that was made to have the cutoff option. I only use the velcro pockets. The belt is awkward to use and I now use a regular belt with them. The pants are very comfortable, easy wearing, wash easily. All in all, good pants.

Great pants
I bought the blue pants. very comfortable. Wanted to buy the gray/pewter ones but the dark patch looked really odd. should have been the same color as the pants. And yes more color options would be great. I'd buy more
