Definitely NOT waterproof/ water resistant
I bought this for a camping canoe trip. It consistently was wet on the bottom inside. It is a good thing I had wrapped everything in extra plastic. While this holds a lot I would not use this if you think it is going to get wet (especially from the bottom)

Good Bag, One Downside
I've used this bag over many years for fly fishing travel. It has been great. The downside is that the wheels are not replaceable. My wheels recently failed. So the bag will end up in a landfill. The next rolling duffel I purchase will have wheels that are easily replaceable. I hope that LL Bean has their manufacturer modify the design to have replaceable wheels. This bag would last forever with that change.

Travel bag
Great bag. Easy to pack and has lots of space. I like the shoulder strap or using the hand strap as an option. It hasn't needed cleaning yet but looks like it will be an easy task with just a damp cloth.
