Cheap features...bag fine
Bag itself was fine, but the plastic clips were cheap and I could not even use them.

Large and durable, but undersized zipper...
The bag seems reasonably well made -- but when I loaded it up, the undersized zipper really struggled. I'm replacing a duffel from Eagle Creek (that cost $50 less) that has a much more rugged zipper -- and is lockable (which the LL Bean is not).
For a very expensive duffel like this ($160 in the XL size), that is ostensibly the "Pro" model -- I'm a bit disappointed. If the Eagle Creek was not 7 liters smaller, I'd definitely buy that.

Almost perfect
Very durable, pretty much rainstorm proof if zipper seam is not exposed for over ~15 mins in torrential to monsoon conditions.
The handle strap binding is terrible - tiny shallow plastic buttons (black on black) that would be ok on thin material like clothing, but are ridiculous on a strap to bind two heavy nylon handles. I cannot imagine trying to fasten these buttons while wearing gloves.
I’ll replace with Velcro or big metal buttons - would prefer that product was a bit better.

Durable, water resistant, roomy bag for adventures
