Cut smaller than in previous years
Sizing has changed since 2021. The size 4 of the Comfort Trail Pants I purchased in 2021 still fit perfectly. The size 4 I ordered this year (2025) were a little tight. I had to go to a size 6, which is a little large/loose, but fits more comfortably than the size 4. Weird that I'm wearing both pairs of the same pant, but in two different sizes. Bottom line: These are cut smaller than previous years.

Essential features not found in other LL Bean pant
I just bought my third pair. These pants have bottom drawstring, important safety feature if you are walking in the outdoors in tick infested Maine. They were the ONLY pants in the store with a pocket big enough for a small iphone. The fabric is abrasion resistant, dries fast,and does not feel like a clingy plastic bag on your legs. LL Bean, stop your slide into the kind of clothes you find at discount stores and keep making pants like this.

Odd Sizing
I bought two pair in different sizes (10 and 12). Odd thing was that they both were very tight in waist but 12 was enormous in hips. I usually wear a size 10 but even the 12 was so tight I couldn’t even get it buttoned at waist.

Perfect summer pants for the South!
I was concerned that medium tall pants wouldn't be long enough, as I really need a 33-34" inseam. Thankfully, these pants are long enough, in spite of being "medium tall." They're super comfortable, the waist is adjustable by adjusting the elastic within the inside of the waistband, and they're lightweight, cool, and rugged if needed to be so! I'm going to be working on collecting more of these great pants -- they're perfect for hot, humid climates!

Wanted to love them
I liked the fabric and features, but the fit was off for me. They flared out at hip level so the pockets gaped open.
