Tight at the thigh zipper
At 5'2" tall, the petite is a little short on me. The thigh and leg is great, not too loose, not too tight, but the zipper area is tight, sometimes uncomfortable when bending down.

Tall women be aware
This pant might fit an 'average' woman, but I am tall and fit. A solid 14 in any pants I purchase. This 'medium/tall' is not for the tall woman. The proportions are wrong! The large was saggy in the crotch, baggy through the thigh, and the pockets didn't land on the hip correctly. The medium was short in the crotch, great in the thigh, and the pockets were still off. The length on both sizes were too short. The only thing I like is the zip-off, and that has nothing to do with fit.

Very comfortable in the heat. I seldom make into shorts, but just partially unzipping above the knee provides the relief I need, especially when seated.

Too big and too stiff to wear
The size small is way bigger than a median size pants. The material isn’t elastic, when bend knees, it causes very uncomfortable at knees area, too tight.

Versatile and great for travel
I bought these pants to take on vacation, since they pack down small without wrinkling too much. They're comfortable and they dry quickly. I never actually did zip off the legs to wear them as shorts, but found the fabric adaptable to both cooler and warmer weather.
