Crazy Sizing
First I bought this purple 2-piece in size 6. I have two grand-daughters, almost 4 and almost 6. I thought it would fit one of them, probably the younger one. The shorts were very big, maybe a usual 8-10, and the top was a bit too small for a size 6, more like a 4-5. I went back and read the reviews some of which said these shorts are way oversized in relation to the top. Then I ordered the same purple 2-piece in size 4.
I tried them on the girls today. The size 6 top fits the girl who is turning 4 this month but it is a bit tight. For her, the size 4 shorts are a bit too large in the waist and a bit tight around the legs. However, I kept the size 6 top to go with the size 4 shorts. It is wearable for the younger girl.
I sent back the size 6 shorts (that might fit an 8 year old) and the size 4 top (that might fit a skinny 2 year old). I do not know if L L Bean will give me some kind of refund, but I think they should. These sizes are very far off. They should be resized and sold as separates. Thank you.

Great suit need more big girl sizes available
My daughter has had this suit for a couple years and it’s held up great through vacations, kayaking and many pool days at home. Unfortunately this summer they did not offer this suit in the girls (8-18) size range, only little girls sizes were available. I was very disappointed because this shorts and tankini top is unique and hard to find girls suit that have more coverage like this one. Many suits I’ve found have crop tankini tops and it’s very hard to find short to match full length tops. Hopefully, LLbean will back the larger sizes for girls who want to be more comfortable and carefree.

Swim shorts- comfy and modest- appropriate!
I am really pleased with this swimsuit. I wanted my granddaughter to have a suit to play in and not worry about getting a sunburned belly or be uncomfortable with a bottom that creeps up. She and her mom can have matching swim shorts- it will be their new normal.

Shorts waaaayyy too large
The suit appears to be well made, but (big butt, pun intended), the shorts are definitely sized incorrectly. They were so big that I had to take them in on both sides so that they wouldn't fall of my granddaughter. The top fit, but just fit.
