Rough coat, collie, dog dish, great dog dish

As far as water bowls go, you can’t miss with this
We bought our girls an ugly water bowl that was on sale when they were babies. They liked knocking their bowls over so it had to be one that didn’t tip, but this one was ugly. I wasn’t looking for a new water bowl, but when I saw this one, I knew they had to have it. It’s substantial. Definitely doesn’t tip over. I can tell they appreciate it. I mean it must have been embarrassing drinking out of the ugly one. And it says LL Bean on it! Who doesn’t love that?

Better than competitors
I have a lot of these type of bowls at this similar price point. I use them all, but both my dog and I prefer this one. It's super sturdy but has a slightly narrower lip and a gentle angle than their competitor that starts with a 'Y', which I also have. This means that this bowl is slightly lighter in weight but also allows the human to get a good grip on the lip when lifting a heavy bowl of water to and from the sink to refill. I'm always slightly worried I'll drop the other competitor bowl, and this one just feels better and more secure in the hand. Excellent quality bowl - my retriever has used this for over 2 years (along with others), but she does prefer this one as well! There's been water changed in an out of it for 2 straight years - zero rust or issues. Rubberized bottom is secure on all surfaces and doesn't budge or flip. Great product.

It's not just a dog bowl!
This was for a very active cat, who had moved previous bowls around. This one stays put and keeps the water cool. It was a gift and both cat and owner are very happy with it.

L.L.Bean Insulated Dog Bowl Extra Large
I am a bit disappointed that on the rim of each bowl there is a bit of rust forming. I have only hand washed them and they are only used on the weekends we are up to camp. I love the look and size of them.

Hydrated!
This is a nice water bowl. I love the shape. It is not too shallow and holds the water well. Sometimes I accidentally hit my foot on the bowl and it has minimal spillage. Deep well and holds good amount of water. The grip is awesome too. I wash it by hand and have no issues. Other colors would be nice. This bowl will hold up nicely.

Doggy Bowls aren’t dishwasher safe!
Not recommended for top rack of the dishwasher! After looking high and low for the quintessential doggie bowls for our two rescue pups, we found these stylish bowls on the LL Bean Website. Upon receiving them, we noted that the label revealed that these bowls were “dishwasher safe”. Upon their arrival, we took due care and placed them on the top shelf of the dishwasher and ran a “quick wash”. Sadly, immediately upon opening the door after the cleaning cycle was complete, we found that the enameled coating on the outside of one of the bowls had rinsed off in the dishwasher! We will be returning both bowls to the nearest store after the holidays.

Paint Peels
Bought two of these. Used the top rack of the dishwasher to clean as instructed. Paint has peeled off on both. Do not use in dishwasher if you don't want the paint to peel! Also, recommend removing the rubber bottom and washing separately. If washed together in dishwasher, water will accumulate between the rubber and the bowl.

great bowls but paint peels
This bowls are a great size for my golden retrievers and well-weighted and stable. However, they ARE NOT dishwasher safe, despite the description provided--which says they can be washed in the top of a dishwasher. I have washed them several times in the top of my dishwasher and the paint is peeling. This only affects the look, not the (good) functionality. But I would rather they be left stainless, w/o peeling paint.
