Nostalgic and Designed to be an heirloom
Nostalgic and finely wrought advent calendar. We were very impressed with the quality. The drawers have a stop so they don’t pull completely out. They are large enough for wrapped truffles, notes, etc. We purchased tiny food treat bags to include m&ms, etc., and we were able to fit in miniature wrapped coconut bars. The design was very well thought out . It works! Our 2 little granddaughters absolutely love it. The rendering of a period pickup tops it all off.

Disappointed
It is very sad that L.L. Bean does not have the same quality it did years ago. This is a cute advent calendar however, for the money there is not much quality. Very thin cheap wood, does not seem like it will hold up over time. Handles of drawers are glued on and you can see more glue than handle.

Keeping the tradition going
Loved my Advent Calendar as a child. Got a wooden house calendar for my son. Now he has a son who loves anything with wheels. The red truck LL Bean calendar is perfect. Every day he gets to open a door with a small surprise. It is a big hit and continues the family tradition.

Drawers are small, quality low
I have the tree advent calendar for my daughter and the drawers are bigger and more useful. This advent calendar's quality is also lower. I would recommend the tree calendar much more over this one.

Why is LLBean right on the front??
Weird choice to plaster your brand name right on the front of an advent calendar, pretty tasteless and ruins an otherwise cute idea. Given as a gift, so we are keeping it not to offend, but really?
