Poor design in waist
Different design than in the past. No way to adjust the waist or hold them up for a skinnier person. No interior adjustable elastic band and no belt loops. Size didn’t matter, all sizes fit oversized in the waist. Does not work for slim kids.

Not just for boys……
I am a petite size 2 and boys 14 fit me well. They are perfect for wearing to the barn and summer trail riding. I have had the blue and tan for quite a while and they have held up well. The rust seems to run just a tad smaller, but overall, they are perfect.

They shrank!
My grandson loved these pants. Unfortunately, they shrank because they have to be line dried or on cold. His family leads an active lifestyle, so there is little time for specialized laundry. He only wore them once. I am extremely disappointed because these pants were expensive, and LLBean charges for return shipping.

Just what he needed.
Just what my son needed! Lightweight, but good protection from sun and bugs. The zipping off of the legs was easy (to make them into shorts), but the zipping back on while he's wearing them was more of a challenge!

Cresta Hiking Zip Off Pants Kids
These are great for kids in the summer. Quick dry and easier to convert from full leg to shorts.

Best Versatile Outdoor Must-Have
Extremely happy about this purchase. Love the versatile design: conversion from long to short, safety of zippered side pockets, and convenience of pulling down or unzippering. Material is light weight, breathable, comfortable (not sticky to body), water and wind repellent, can be layered with wool base layer for winter activities or wear as is in hot weather. I much prefer these pants over the men’s or women’s version.

no adjustable waist band
A total bust... we're gearing up for climbing, backpacking, horse-packing, and lots of playtime. These pants were too big in the waist for our girls and no adjustable waist band or beltloops to compensate for oversized waist.
For lasting more than one season we rely on a longer leg and an adjustable waist band. We tried the smaller size to fit the waist, but the leg length was way too short.
We've been happy with the previous fit of LLBean hiking pants so we took a gamble that the waist would be appropriately sized.
