Great wool socks.
Best wool sock I have ever owned. I wear size 9 1/2 and they fit perfectly. The usual 9 to 12 size socks are too big for me, not these. Lightweight is good in Texas for most of the winter. They have held up well to washing.

The fit of these socks has changed
The Cresta Wool lightweight socks are a product that I'd purchased in the past and didn't have any problem with, besides them wearing out quickly from wearing them a lot, until now. The design on these socks has changed where the top is now more narrow and not as stretchy. I just wish that LL Bean would product test these things better because they dig into my calves after a short time. The sock overall is more narrow to put on and so they almost don't fit, even though they are the same size I usually order. These used to be comfortable for their easy fit as well as being a lightweight material. I am keeping these socks because I need them right now, but I won't be buying them again. This is a second product I purchased recently from LL Bean where design changes have strayed away from fit and comfort qualities. That used to be what set this company apart from others.

I’d bought the blue version of these in the past and loved them, warm and comfortable, probably my favorite socks. Blue has been gone for awhile, didn’t love the other colors, then I saw pink was added so ordered some. They seem much different, thinner, not as soft and comfy, Very disappointed.

Fantastic Socks!
Got a pair with an order to hit the free shipping minimum. LOVE THEM and ordered more! I like a nice, snug, wool sock and these are them! They are tight enough to stay in place all day but not cut off circulation. Warm but don't sweat. I tend to be picky about socks and have a hard time finding good ones and am excited to have found these. Seem like quality socks that will last a long time too. I am a female who wears a size 9 and got the Medium.

Nice & Cushy Warm, BUT SUPER SMALL CALF
my feet have gotten bigger as I age so I bought a larger size - well the foot is what I would expect but the calf part is SUPER TIGHT - I would recommend going up a size if you want comfort.

I’m a size 8.5 ladies. My legs are not athletic. I ordered a large thinking loose for bed. The socks are tight and restrictive. I wasn’t able to even try them. The quality of fabric is great and they washed up amazing. Two stars for quality, will no doubt last.

Poor quality.
This was not LLBean quality. When I tried to put my foot into one of the socks, there were so many loose threads that my toes got snarled in them and I could not even get my foot into the sock. Will be returning the pair.

My favorite socks
I have been wearing these socks for years.They are my go to fall,winter socks because they are warm but not hot like the heavy wool hiking socks.I bought them years ago when they were billed as a light weight hiking sock and fell in love with them.Now I buy a few new pairs every couple of years

Great socks
I have a couple of pairs of these socks. They are soft, warm and wash well. I do not put them in the dryer, just to be sure they don't shrink, so I do not know if that is a problem. In the past I have bought them as Christmas gifts for my daughter and son-in-law and both report they are their favorite socks and have asked for them again this year.

Tight on the leg and don't stretch
They are pleasantly warm but way too tight on my legs. I am slim so its not like I have beefy shins. I don't. The socks are just too tight on the legs and cut off circulation.

Socks for shoulder seasons.
I like these socks for hiking, biking and daily use during winter, spring and fall. The light weight and breathability make them comfortable except for hot days. I have similar socks in medium weight which make my feet too sweaty for life above zero.

I bought these socks in three colors ,trusting the reviews, for a hiking trip in the Pacific Northwest. These sox did not disappoint. They were comfortable. My feet did not sweat or itch. The socks protected my ankles from chaffing in my hiking boots.When I crossed streams , they wicked the water and kept my feet dry . I bought the light version for summer,and I will definitely come back for the heavier version this winter.
