Introduced as Bean's Ice Carrier way back in 1944, the Boat and Tote was billed as a bag made of builders' canvas for hauling ice "from car to ice chest." Today you can spot it doing heavy lifting everywhere from grocery stores to gardens, from beaches to bedroom closets. Tested to hold up to 500 pounds, it'll carry more than you can carry. We promise.

Totally cute tote bag
This is the perfect bag for anything. l love it! It is so easy to pack and go. AND, it is beautiful. East to wipe clean and it's nice squae shape helps it to fit anywhere.

🙏 please can we have a long handle version?
I really want this bag with a long handle, I have tried the crossbody and it’s great and all. I find the long handle more comfortable and the side pocket an essential.

Perfect size and strong
I appreciate the fact that this bag has a zipper at the top. My husband and I go on numerous bus trips and I like the fact that I can toss it in the overhead compartment without stuff falling out of it. It is a heavy duty bag which can hold a sufficient amount of goods.

Best of LL Bean: Bring back the all natural opt
Best tote I’ve ever owned, not only is it an every day bag, I also use it for groceries, weekend getaways, shopping, picnics, and etc. it goes with me everywhere. My only regret is I didn’t buy more of the all natural when it was still being made. Very disappointed to see it’s no longer sold an option, especially for summer.

Perfect Travel Bag
I bought two of these for my nieces as they are leaving college for pastures anew. They were so excited to get them and both thought they would be perfect for travel. The durability means they will last for years to come and the zip top provides a measure of security.
