Our sweater is crafted from 100% premium lambswool yarns that are richly textured and noticeably softer than competitors' versions. In fact, it's practically impossible to find other ragg sweaters made without using lesser wool-blend yarns. Each of our ragg wool sweaters is designed stitch by stitch with time-honored styling and details.

If You’re on the Fence, Buy It!
I am very particular about my clothing, but I wanted a wool sweater that felt quality while not being too precious for everyday wear. This sweater tics all the boxes. The wool is heavy and tightly knit, the neck and wrist openings are near and snug, and the fit for me was on point (I do have to size down to a S in LL Bean, however, from a M in most other brands, as I like a tailored fit). I also had the advantage of being able to try it on in person, which immediately did away with any doubts I had from the photos online or quality at this price point. This is one of the first purchases I’ve made from LL Bean and will definitely be back for more. As an aside, for the one-star reviews who were bewildered by the shrinkage, it’s wool so yeah…you can’t machine wash it…

Essential part of my cold weather wardrobe
This is my 3 Bean Ragg wool sweater in about 40 years. The first two were worn constantly over many days of cold weather in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey. Receiving this new one was like welcoming an old friend.

Another beautiful sweater from Bean!
I have been buying Bean's ragg wool swearters for forty years and they never disappoint. This is a truly beautiful, soft green, so I bought the men's size Small and it fits all right since I wear them over flannel shirts or turtlenecks. For several years, Bean did not offer these ragg wool sweaters for women, so I am used to buying the men's, but this particular color is good for either sex.

Another Winner - Crewneck Sweater

Well made
It's a pretty sturdy sweater, the only knock is that it is pretty itchy, so if you aren't wearing a long sleeve baselayer under it, it can be uncomfortable. Otherwise, it's well built, fits like you'd expect, and looks nice.
