Great cut/features. Could use pocket flaps.
Overall, I’m pleased with the shirt. I also have two of the older, Canadian made shirts that have held up well through some hunts, hikes and general wear. The new shirt’s fabric feels thinner, harder faced. I like the bi-swing shoulders. Aesthetically, the shirt gets compliments. The two things I would change—a field shirt should have flapped pockets in my old-school opinion and I wish we could get these sourced from the US or Canada again (I can dream, can’t I)!

ultra practical field shirts
I now own 3 LL field shirts. They are exceptionally well made with features not typically found in todays apparel: prefect plaid matching, doubled fore sleeves, gussetted shoulders, external hanger loop. Sizing is accurate and wear is minimal after a year of hard use.

Field Shirt for an outdoorsman
Great shirt for the outdoors offering a medium weight layer to protect from those cool mornings that warm up nicely. I found this shirt to be quite comfortable over a t-shirt on a 40F degree morning warming up to 63F.

OK...But Could Be Better
Fit was OK for me, as I am still fairly trim. Gusseted back/shoulders did provide decent arm movement. While material is "canvas" it isn't the same weight as my other, older canvas field shirts. It will probably hold up OK, but might not deflect briars as well. L.L. Bean should consider making a "Field Shirt" for hunters thrashing the brush rather than suburbanites raking leaves and going to the coffee shop.

Maintenance required.
I like the color and pattern but the material isn’t very soft and wrinkles easily requiring ironing frequently. Perma press would be much better.
