Wish I’d found this years ago!!
After looking at the raincoats for a year now & trying too many “other” brands, I decided to give this one a try. I’m a dog walker/pet sitter so I’m outside 365. I’m in LOVE with this rain coat!! My only complaint is it’s thin, so I have to layer which is fine - it’s keeping me dry & I love the cinch waist - it makes it look stylish!!

Perfect rain/wind protection
This rain coat was the perfect length (above knees) to keep the rain off. I wore it over a lightweight down LLBean coat (knee length) for protection from rain and wind.

Thin Raincoat
Thinner than I expected. Have a hard time with the zipper. It fits well, but I was thinking of returning it. Not what I expected for the price. I will hang on to it as a secondary raincoat

Fits more snuggly than older model
I bought this to replace a similar raincoat I have had for many years, which was a large. I called and asked about the measurement at the hips and was given a number that was the same as my old model. Unfortunately, when it arrived and I tried it on it fits very snuggly in the hips. I have since bought this same raincoat in an XL to have more ease in the hips My hips measure 43".

WONDERFUL Raincoat!
This is the BEST raincoat I’ve ever had. It’s made of high quality waterproof material which really does keep you dry. I love the style and cut, it fits me perfectly and doesn’t make me feel big and puffy. It’s so light and comfortable. I love the nice deep zippered pockets and the velcro straps at the wrists to keep the rain out. I find myself wishing it would rain so I could wear it!
My weight goes up and down so I did something I can’t afford to do, I bought the med which fits me at the moment and the large for when I gain weight. I wanted to make sure I wouldn’t miss out on the large. I love this coat so much! I highly recommend it!!

Great Travel Raincoat
I ordered this Rain Coat at the last minute to for a walking trip we were taking in Portugal. I must say LL Bean delivered the coat fast which helped with packing. I got a good bit of use with the coat during our trip, both for rain and wind. I ordered the small which is a bit big, but it is great for wearing a fleece or puffer jacket under when it gets colder. On one of our hiking days we got caught in the rain for about 3 hours and at the end I was dry from my head to my knees! The one problem with this coat are the orbs on the hood, they do not hold, which is a bit of a problem when it is pouring rain:)). Other than that, it is lightweight, packs well and keeps you dry.

Pros and Cons
I bought this raincoat to replace an LLBean Gortex raincoat that I purchased many years ago at a Bean’s outlet store.
The Pros:
The material is lightweight, waterproof and windproof. You can easily wear it over layers. I like the pockets, especially the small upper pocket for my phone. The hood is adjustable, cinches well and can be “velcroid” into a “collar” when not in use. The jacket is packable and washable, although I did not try these features. The zipper is two-way. It comes in my size (petite).
The Cons:
My first impression was that the color was drab. Despite being a small petite size, the sleeves and hemline were at least an inch too long. It was not at all stylish and the fit was rather boxy. It could easily be unisex outerwear if it was shorter.
In the end:
I just didn’t like this raincoat and ended up returning it. I bought the H2Off raincoat instead (which was more expensive unfortunately, but has style, comes in a more appealing shade of blue and I will enjoy wearing it).

Worn in very serious rain conditions. Amazing. Kept me dry. Comfortable. Flattering. Light weight. I put my own Puffer shell for warmth. Love this jacket keeping it. However, the inside lining on my bare skin feels like you are just rubbing up against a tent the whole time. Don’t like the feeling of that at all. I will see if I get used to it in the summer. Wish I didn’t have to though.

Love this Coat!
This is my second one of these raincoats. I’ve lost quite a bit of weight and needed to get a smaller size and I was so happy that they still had this coat! Its predecessor has kept me dry for several years and also packs well. I am 5’10” and usually wear a 14. I bought the large in this raincoat and it fits with room to wear a coat underneath, if needed, and comes down to just above my knees.

Great -- except hood
I loved everything about this rain coat --packability, length, comfort when I moved my arms--BUT you cannot wear both a ponytail and glasses and use the hood. It does not cover my face when I have a ponytail (which is all the time), and so rain splatters my glasses. What's the point of having it if I can't keep my glasses dry? A hood for women needs to be deep enough to accommodate both of those things simultaneously.

Why did you change the cut?
This would have been my third or fourth Trail model raincoat from Bean (eventually, the waterproofing wore out, especially at the shoulders.) Unfortunately, someone decided that the style had to include waist shaping and flaring out at the hips. Now the darn thing makes me look like a pear, and I doubt I could ever put extra layers underneath. So sorry: it's going back.

Traveled around Ireland and wore this daily…
This coat is fantastic. Lightweight and breathable while still being completely waterproof. I wore this with a zip up base layer on colder days (40°/50°) and without on warmer days. Folds up small - easily fit in my backpack while traveling. Highly recommend!

Bad zipper! Struggle to zip
Just received today. It was a struggle to get zipped up, I had to really apply pressure, and that was not good as I just received it so I did not want to damage it. Too bad... I really wanted to use this for recess duty in the rain... Also, I'm about 5'3" and this was like 3 inches above my knee, and I purchased the regular size large, I thoufgt it would be longer.... Definitely roomy tho. I took other reviewers with a grain of salt when they mentioned this as I thought it was just their experience, but they were right...

Raincoat with self stowing pocket
Like this raincoat, and I folded it into its pocket when I recently traveled. When I took it out, it was severely wrinkled and still is as I write this. Hope they fall out at some point.

Protected Walks with Pooch!
Perfect for Autumn showers and walking my dog! I can wear over a medium-weight denim jacket or sweater. Love the zippered pockets. Although the chest pocket can hold my phone and ID, I wish it was a bit larger to also hold my keys. My rating should really be 4.5; I’m ready for Spring, too!

Petite sizing issue
I’ve purchased llbean coats before in petite and they fit great. This coat did not seem to be petite in sizing, though it was marked petite. Other than that, coat is nice.
