We start with premium 850 down, which provides more warmth for its weight, and then treat it with revolutionary DownTek that allows our jackets to do what many others can't. Unlike ordinary untreated down that soaks up moisture, ours repels water and dries faster so it stays light, lofty and comfortable, longer.

I am a person who is often cold in the winter and have been searching for the warmest coat. My husband bought me this coat. Must say I was disappointed, I had to go back to my old coat which is much warmer. This coat is not warm at all. For the cost, it is not worth it. The quality is ok but not superior, not a high quality zipper or cuffs. I agree that the old LLbean products are better and warmer.

I have a longer version of this coat that I bought years ago and love it so much that it’s all I wear. I gave away my other coats. It is still in great shape, but I wanted another shorter version.

Toasty Warmth!
Truly a terrific jacket in many ways. I typically wear a large size, but I went up two sizes to a 1X because I like to wear thick, bulky sweaters under the jacket. Good decision as the fit is spot on. I tend toward always being cold, so I was quite concerned that this garment have the ability to ward off the bone chilling cold of our severe New England weather. I worried needlessly as it sent Ole Man Winter on his way with fashionable aplomb!
I am close to six feet tall, and while I wasn’t concerned about the overall length of the jacket, I was worried about the sleeve length. Again, I needn’t have spent one second thinking about the sleeves as the fit is precisely as I wanted.
The garment color is an attractive dark slate gray. I didn’t want a jacket in black nor navy, so this color is a suitable choice. I also like the pattern of the feather baffles in the jacket. The clever placement design gives the illusion of a slimmer silhouette.
I have not laundered the jacket yet, so I cannot attest to its durability.
The one gripe I have is that it sheds tiny feathers both on the outside and inside of the jacket in a larger quantity than I would have normally expected. Perhaps the next iteration of this jacket could be a non-down version.

Disappointed
I ordered this coat since i was always very pleased with similar purchases from LLBean but this coat has been a big disappointment. I've only worn this coat about five times and the zipper broke four times. I'm tired of struggling to fix it each time and would like LLBean to replace it with one with more quality.

Perfect Coat
Perfect Coat. This is exactly what I needed. Warmth, comfort, utility. The length is good to cover bum and legs for chilly days but not restrictive. Nice shape to the coat. Pockets make perfect sense. I can store hat and gloves inside and the side pockets keep hands warm. Double zipper is great for driving, sitting. Fleece at neck is soft on the face. Hood is small and fits to my head, over my hat, unlike most hoods that sort of just become a sail to hold onto.

Love this parka! It’s lightweight but still warm, long enough to keep you cozy and fit layers underneath. Love all the inside pockets! Great Lightweight coat
I purchased this coat in my regular size large. All my other down coats/jackets are size large that are a perfect fit. I wish I would have ordered it in a x-large. Depending on what I wear the coat could be a little snug, especially around the thigh area. As a woman weight can go up and down often. I suggest, whatever size you may currently wear go the next size up with this particular coat.

Perfect packable coat!
Perfect for travel. Doesn’t weigh you or your suitcase down! I need to research how to pack it into the stow pouch as I just packed it into its hood. Not all puffy coats are water resistant, but this one is and was warm in the 7° Colorado weather!
