Ambiguous product description
The product description did not say whether the size was "up to 37-38", or "37-38 and up". Ordering it, I guessed wrong: what I had needed was "up to 37-38, so that as the leather stretched I could tighten it to 36. What I got was "37-38 and up", so I could not tighten it when needed. In the event, I took it to a shoemaker, who punched additional holes in it.

Just awful
I have worn previous versions of this belt for many years, but needed a different size. The leather face began peeling off this one the first time I wore it, and the fraying has continued without stopping.

Excellent Belt
I purchased this belt over six years ago and have worn it nearly every day since! These belts are truly the best out there. It is of great quality and ages very well! This is the second belt I have purchased from LL Bean (back to back I might add) and I am just as satisfied with the second one as I was the first. Now that this one is six years old, I am looking to replace it with another LL Bean belt, brown to be specific! If you are in the market for a great quality, everyday belt, you cannot go wrong with this one! It will last a very long time!

Flawed finish
This belt is thick and supple, with a very nice buckle. That said, the finish is easily marred. My belt is only a month old, and has scratches above my pockets... apparently from my fingernails??? and on the back from straight-chairs. Also on the edges where it goes through the buckle. I wear this belt with jeans, and plan to live with the marks, but if you plan to wear with chinos or anything other than very casual... don't buy.
