For over 80 years, we've been making our authentic Scotch Plaid flannel shirts the way we always have: better than everyone else's. Our exclusive flannel fabric is meticulously woven with longer-staple cotton, which means the individual cotton fibers are about one-quarter inch longer than short-staple fibers, making a huge difference in fabric strength and quality. Then, it's meticulously brushed eight times on each side and given a "touch test" by a master weaver to declare it soft enough.
- Each color is carefully matched to the historical tartans in the Scottish registry.
- Authentic tartans are yarn-dyed for lasting color.

Comfortable. Bought the red and black. But too warm at 90. ;-). Typical LL Bean quality.

Disappointed
I’ve been buying LLBean flannel shirts for at least 15 years, and all of them are in really good shape, a little shrinkage, a little pilling for the oldest - except the ones offered in the 24/25 season. I have two of those, and the fabric is more pilled than any of the others. Nice plaids and fit, but there is not the same quality of flannel. I can see why they were offered at a cheaper price than previously. I won’t be purchasing any more like those.

Good quality gift, but sizing was "off".
This was a birthday gift to my son. He is over 6' tall so I ordered size L; but it turned out to be too big in the chest so that was a disappointment. But the sleeve monogramming was appreciated.

fabric not wearing well
I bought the MacKenzie Weathered color for my husband for Christmas. The fabric has not worn well...it is already pilling. This is not the quality of fabric we've enjoyed with your flannel shirts in the past.
