Great except for water bottle holder
As much as I like this backpack, I would be hesitant to buy it again. The water bottle holders aren’t tall enough so the water bottle constantly falls out. The holder also rips over time. I hope a newer version will come out to correct these issues.

Perfect replacement backpack!
Perfect size for my 14 year old granddaughter. She can get all her notebooks in, plus her sneakers and uniform for track and field, and still have room left over.

School bag replacement #3
This is the 3rd bag we’ve purchased since 4th grade (8th grade now). While nice and large they all eventually have zippers get stuck at worst time possible and I’m stuck trying to scramble and replace. Definitely not the bags we had in the 90s.

Good backpack
I've been using the LLBean Deluxe Book Pack for many years, and it’s design, comfort, functionality and durability continues to impress me. There is ample storage space and well-organized compartments, I highly recommend this backpack. I love the blue teal color but hope to find more two tone color options next time. Also I wish you could add a specific spot for AirTags & ear pods.

Great bag!!!!
I’ve got my been using this backpack for a few weeks, but so far it is exactly what I needed in a bag. Tons of room for all of my work stuff and snacks. The water bottle holders on the sides are deeper than they seemed and are a key reason for why the bag is getting high marks. There are plenty of pockets for smaller items. So far, I can’t find anything I don’t like about this bag. :)

Doesn’t hold up.
Daughter used for 6th and 7th grade and the strap on the one side the seam is giving out at the top of the back pack. Says only warranty for 1 year well it’s almost 2 years old. Says it’s supposed to be a college backpack and it can’t hold up for middle school with a Chromebook in it and for paying $75 not worth it.

Water Bottle Holder Too Short - Bottle Falls Out
I purchased this backpack for my ninth grader. He carries an Owala water bottle to school. He hates this LL Bean backpack and asked me to replace it with another backpack. The water Bottle holder on the side of the backpack is way too short. He usually takes either a 24oz, 32oz, or 40oz Owala water bottle everyday to school, and it keeps falling out. My son has always had some sort of L.L. Bean backpack since he was a Kindergartener. This backpack will be his last LL Bean backpack.

Many great features and a few problems.
1) Water bottle side is so short bottles fall out. This should be an easy thing to upgrade.
2) you should have a chest strap in addition to belly strap to hold tight to body. This is a big bag and carries a lot.
3) The hook cord on the top is attached in a flimsy manner and ripped out. Yes, I had it for a few years before that happened but still that could be upgraded. I see reviews it’s happened to a number of other people also.
I’m going to recommend this bag if you’re OK with those three things. 🤷♂️
Fix those three things and you have a truly great bag.
