The softest long-lasting flannel in the widest range of 100% authentic Scottish tartans.
For over 80 years, we've been making our authentic Scotch Plaid flannel shirts the way we always have: better than everyone else's. Our exclusive flannel fabric is meticulously woven with longer-staple cotton, which means the individual cotton fibers are about one-quarter inch longer than short-staple fibers, making a huge difference in fabric strength and quality. Then, it's meticulously brushed eight times on each side and given a "touch test" by a master weaver to declare it soft enough.
- Authentic tartans are yarn-dyed for lasting color.
- Made of 100% high-quality Portuguese cotton flannel, an L.L.Bean exclusive.
- Each color is carefully matched to the historical tartans in the Scottish registry.

My favorite Bean Flannel Shirts
Very nice shirt. I've purchased a number of the Scotch Plaid flannel shirts over the years - love the fit, fabric weight, and classic good look with button-down collar. I bought the Indigo Tartan; not a color I would have selected online, but I was in a "local" store looking at a jacket, and spotted this on the rack. It looks really nice in person. I thought it was a little snug when trying it on, but discovered I bought a Slightly Fitted instead of my usual Traditional Fit. But that's on me - not on LLBean.
