For nearly 90 years, we've been making our authentic Scotch Plaid flannel shirts the way we always have: better than everyone else's. Our exclusive flannel fabric is meticulously woven with longer-staple cotton, which means the individual cotton fibers are about one-quarter inch longer than short-staple fibers, making a huge difference in fabric strength and quality. Then, it's meticulously brushed eight times on each side and given a "touch test" by a master weaver to declare it soft enough.

The softest SHORT-lasting flannel
I purchased my first flannel a couple years ago, loved it. Bought another. Each developed holes in the elbows after two years of normal wear and care. Not long lasting. Poor quality weave that is not meant to last. If you want something that is going to last, you're better off going elsewhere. Quality of LL Bean has gone the way of the buffalo.

Great, comfy flannel shirt!
Really like the Washed Buchanan color and the fabric is super comfy as others have mentioned. Big fan of LL Bean products and this shirt is no different. I will say it does run a little snug on the chest, so I had to order up a size. (Always wear XL with LL Bean) Enjoy!

Wonderful Shirt

Excellent color, pattern, weight.
This latest flannel shirt purchase is my second shirt from this line of products. I love the weight of this flannel, it is just right for me as a senior to wear in the house on cold days. The sleeves wrinkle a little more than I would’ve expected, otherwise perfect.
