Rated 2 de 5 de par Swing, and a clean miss This is a mid-weight insulated coat, not suitable for under 20 degrees. 2 major problems with the coat I just received (mid-January '25): The hood is useless. It sticks out 6" above your head - no exaggeration! Even with a helmet on (which a coat like this is not really used with) it's 4" too tall. Most hoods can be adjusted back and down, this hood adjusts AROUND the circumference of your head - but it's so absurdly tall that the air rushes under it. Honestly, it's the worst and most useless hood I have EVER seen on a winter coat, unless you are a conehead. By the way, I use a hood rather than a hat when it's cold enough. Second miss - the inner neoprene cuffs are as wide as the inner sleeves, meaning they stop NOTHING. I've had similar cuffs on other coats, they are quite stretchy and should be designed smaller so that they are snug around your wrist. Not these. Yes, the outer cuffs are Velcro adjustable - so there's that. But the neoprene cuffs are so big they are useless. I'm returning this coat.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Perfect for mid-range 20-50F temps This works great for what I wanted it for: the 20-50F range for hiking and general use. For colder temps I use a down parka. Waterproof is a plus so I don't have to weigh whether rain is likely (not a problem at lower temps). It's a good length, current version has a 2-way front zipper, a removable hood, and comes in Don't-Shoot-Me bright red. A good upgrade would be to include some insulation over the front pockets so they could double as hand warmers.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great fit and warm. Good fit with some room for layering underneath. The parka is warm and a good wind blocker.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Nice but heavy for skiing I gave it to my son for a gift. He said it was too heavy and exchanged it.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Velcro enclosures destroy knit and fleece gloves This coat's velcro enclosures have ruined several pairs of knit gloves and knit hats over the past 4 years since I purchased it. Just purchased a new pair of LL Bean Primaloft Therma-Stretch Fleece Gloves and with just one wearing with this coat I discovered the coat's velcro already caught and made abbrasions on the back of one of the gloves. LL Bean needs to nix the velcro enclosures!
