Darkened leather
Purchased Boot Guard to treat and waterproof new LL Bean Stonington Dark Oakwood boots. Hoping the product is effective at waterproofing (have not had wet weather yet) but wanted to advise that it darkened the leather pretty significantly.

Bean Boot guard helps preserve, soften, protect, and seal in moisture of the leather and seal out water and other harmful liquids leather doesn't mix with. Great on my boat shoes, loafers, oxfords and just about every leather shoe I have. I buy a couple of jars at a time and apply twice a year, each spring and fall. From the tops of my Bean hunting boots to my classic 2-eye boat shoes and casual Weejuns. Best leather formula that exceeds where mink oil paste ends.
