Excellent ultralight baselayer
Used these on my Appalachian Trail thruhike this year. Size small is 85 grams on my scale. They breathe excellently, while still keeping my legs warm in cold weather. They also keep my legs from feeling sticky in hot weather. The stitching on the waistband starts to unravel fairly quickly with use, which is my only complaint. Don't forget you can't put silk in the dryer!

The silk pants are very nice and fit well. The waist band is a bit too wide making this delicate item feel somewhat heavy when worn as a bottom layer.

Love The Product But Oh So Big!
My silk long-johns arrived today and the fabric and construction is exactly what I have come to expect of an L L Bean product. Superb to the feel, and well-made. But the size! I am 5'2 and 218 lbs, ordered 3X, my usual size for leggings, stretch pants, and the last pointelle long-johns I ordered about 3 years ago. These would easily fit someone 4 inches taller and considerably heavier. They do cuff nicely though, will keep them as jammie-pants and order another pair a size smaller for under jeans. Satisfactory silk underwear
Nice length to overlap with all but ankle socks (I have long legs); tight but not too tight waist and ankle bands; smooth enough to pull jeans or corduroys on over these long-johns.
