SILK = Warmth
Love SILK - When I need to stay warm (most of the time) under dress pants to jean or sweats but without the bulk or without the fabrics clinging/sticking together. And SILK feels great against the skin.

A wardrobe staple for winter
Never ever without these in the winter. My last pair, purchased over 20 years ago, had finally worn out; a few too many runs and snags (but I gave them up hesitantly). Warmth and lack of bulk are the qualities that make these a necessity. Whether just an additional layer in winter for going from car to store, or doing outdoor activities, these are ideal.

Still warm but quality of silk has gone down
I love these because they are 100% silk and don't have a pattern but the quality of silk used to be so much better. Now it's too thin and they tear after one winter season whereas before I could wear them two or three seasons before the silk would start to run/tear. I wish LL Bean would go back to manufacturing them higher quality like they used to years ago.

Lightweight and warm
I love silk underwear. If you've never tried them, you don't know what you're missing. Very lightweight and incredibly warming and no bulk. I put mine in mesh bags in the washing machine and hang to dry. They will last years with minimal care along the way.
