Very thin
Bought this as a base layer for skiing in western NY
It is extremely thin and has already snagged after being worn 3 times. Guess I’d look for a slightly heavier silk layer next time.

The ability to wash on handwash cycle in machine is not available. Must use tradition handwash or the top will get runs in the fabric.

Not as expected - transparent mesh-like fabric, unpleasant texture. I wear a lot of silk, inner layers and out, and this feels rough and too thin to be useful.

very disappointed in fabric quality
I have owned one of these for years--it has some weight to it, a lovely feel, and does a great job keeping me warm without bulk. The new version is a major disappointment. The silk is tissue-paper thin, and I can't imagine it will hold up at all. I'm returning it, regretfully. LL Bean--please do better.

Perfect first layer for cold winter
This silk undershirt is exactly what I wanted. Light weight so it doesn’t add bulk beneath a winter sweater but definitely adds warmth. I like that the length works nicely for a petite person like me (5’2”, 110 lbs) especially the arms. Many undershirts have sleeves that are too long for me and hang below my sweater sleeves. This shirt also has cuffs which helps to keep the sleeves under control and out of the way. The fabric feels wonderful against my skin and adds good warmth.
