Warmest coat I've ever owned
This coat is the best and warmest all around winter coat I've ever had. I wore it on the evening of 11/25/25 and we got hit by a storm that went from rain to a foot of snow in 6 hours. After being in the storm long enough to go from rain to freezing rain, I went inside and noticed that only the very outer part was wet. Nothing inside of the coat was even damp and I was comfortably warm. This coat has more than enough pockets to carry anything you might need for a day's worth of hunting, hiking or ice fishing. I especially like the huge game pocket in the back. It easily stores my emergency kit, extra hat, gloves, mittens socks and a few shirt. The sleeves are cut nice and long so if you're extending your arms (scraping a windshield) you don't get them crawling half way to your elbow. I know a lot of people may shy away due to the price but, when you consider the closest coats to this style are made in Michigan and Seattle and their prices start at $100 more, I think this coat is a no brainer! I did purchase the XL-Tall

Very warm winter coat
I bought this guide coat for Texas weather which is usually no less than 20*
Luckily I had it during the snowstorm that lasted 10 days with below zero weather, I drove my tractor around clearing the snow, pulling out cars from the ditch, warm the whole time, freezing rain , snow, sleet it held up

Fits perfect, with enough room for layering. I can't wait for our first major winter storm.
I am 6'1 and weigh 220 lbs and wear a size 52 in a sport coat.

Amazing quality …. Screw Filson
Bought XL. Im 6ft 250. Fits comfy. Sleeves long. Usually a Filson guy but the quality and function of this wool jacket surpasses Great value for a fraction of the price you would pay for a three season wool packer coat from Filson

Good, but could use some improvements
This a very nice heavy wool coat that is warm and quiet. It is very good quality and I like it, but it has a few flaws in my opinion, though some of them may only be an issue depending on how it fits. I bought the Tall size which goes below my waist. The front zipper is only one directional, so it bunches up when I sit down unless I completely unzip it. The rear cargo pocket is at the very bottom of the coat so you sit on anything that you put in it. There are also two interior pockets on the sides, but they are made with an oddly stretchy fabric and you are likely to lose anything you put in them. I couldn't be happier, except for the zipper and pockets.

More size issues
Purchased this coat in a XXL size after reading many reviews of the coat being "oversized", "way big" etc. It's a quality jacket but the fit was definitely snug for an XXL. I'm currently between an 2X and 3X and so confirmed against the size chart provided before ordering. It should have fit well based on the chart and reviews.

Handsome, incredibly well made, and very warm.
This parka is the best made garment I’ve ever worn. When I pick it up it seems heavy but once it’s on my shoulders that heaviness goes away. We haven’t had any super cold weather yet but I wore it when the wind chill was driving temps down. Toasty. Now we need an old fashioned Chicago snow storm. But until then the breeze coming off the lake is pretty cod.

Quality
Coat is very warm. FYI, you have to break thread for top pockets. Supposed to be like that. Anyway, the inside cord to keep tight, zipper, all the pockets are awesome. There is a large storage area in ack that has 2 zippers in case you missed it. It does run 1 size too big.
