Our classic casual coat is easy to move in and layer under. With little touches like inverted pleats and buttoned patch pockets it's no surprise this coat continues to be a customer favorite, year after year. Inspired by our iconic Field Coat (originally named Maine Duck Hunting Coat), first introduced in 1924.

If you've been wearing Bean for decades then you know the quality has gone down. These aren't like the old coats, but I still bought it and kept it. It's generously sized for a large. The thread that attach the buttons is lacking, and I'm not surprised some of the threads have come apart with ordinary use. The corduroy cuffs and collar are cheap looking. However, it works as a light to mid-weight fall jacket..for now.

Perfect!
This jacket is warm, sturdy and good-looking too. There are plenty of pockets. I bought the tan one a size up for layering underneath on cooler days.

Amazing coat
It's a great coat that I've gotten so many compliments wearing. I had to size up as it was tight in the shoulders when wearing a sweater. The green color is very flattering.
