With little touches like inverted pleats and buttoned patch pockets it's no surprise this coat continues to be a customer favorite, year after year. Inspired by our iconic Field Coat (originally named Maine Duck Hunting Coat), first introduced in 1924.

Beautiful Barn Coat
This is my second barn coat and I love it! Perfect for those casual days. In Texas you rarely need a heavy coat. This one fits the bill. Love the green color.

Sharp Jacket
So glad I purchased this jacket. Many years ago, I purchased two barn coats from LL Bean. Those jackets look like this one except they are lined with a quilted insulation. I've loved those jackets and am still wearing (and loving) them. They've held up very well and are nice and warm for the winter. I saw this jacket and thought it would be a good idea to get one of these because they are flannel-lined. In other words, this jacket would be great for fall temperatures in the Midwest (30's, 40's, 50's). And, I was right. This jacket is just the right weight for fall in northeast Indiana. I bought my normal size (large) and it is still roomy enough that I can layer a flannel shirt and a river driver shirt underneath. Perfect! And, this jacket looks so classy with the corduroy cuffs and collar. I'm beyond thrilled with it and am so glad I bought it. The jacket material is high-quality, durable and yet comfy soft. The workmanship is excellent. Perfect fall coat and just what I was looking for.

Barn coat….classically stylish!
My barn coat is 20 years old, still going strong! This barn coat was for my daughter, who has borrowed mine over the years. The coat was a surprise….fit her perfectly, flannel lined, well made, and the quality and style I expect from LL Bean. While I live rurally, she will be stylishly wearing it in DC!

Great coat, but it runs Large!
Perfect light coat. 5'10 / 165lbs / 40C. Ordered S, M & L. Kept the Small for a more fitted look. If you plan to wear heavy sweaters or hoodies, go with the Medium. The Large (my normal size in everything LOL) was huge! Should have known better since I've had the tan one with the thermal lining (for years) and returned it for a Medium and could still wear with heavy layers for working outdoors.
