A Parka of Distinction
This parka has been reviewed extensively and does not require a detailed description of its excellent features. I've had my eye on it for quite some time and decided to buy it--even though there will not be that many cold winter days to wear it. It's beautifully engineered and constructed which is what I admire about it. The zipper works smoothly even though some reviewers expressed a problem with it. The hood is a vast improvement over the one from over fifteen years ago which was uninsulated and simply folded into the collar. The design of this parka provides a superior fit to the Baxter down parka (which I own), allowing you to cinch the down liner closer around the waist and eliminate drafts. The Baxter's system of pockets is unbeatable, however, and some of the criticism of the Warden's is justifiable. The Baxter is also a pound lighter should weight be a concern. Overall, the Warden's bullet proof Gortex shell and ruggedness are superior, and I like its appearance better. Its attention to details make it a stand out. It's an expensive parka but not over priced, even if you pay the full retail price.

Well worth the money.
This was a great purchase for me. The quality, style, and function well exceeded my expectations. If there were any drawbacks I would say that it’s almost too warm to wear unless the temperature is below 25 degrees!

Excellent, durable parka
I’ve been wearing this parka for outdoor adventures for 10 years or so. Very rugged and versatile. Warm and very waterproof. Lots of pockets. I can see where this parka would have appeal to any outdoor person, and also of particular interest to a law enforcement officer. There are zippers on each hip that Beans describes as: “ Outer jacket has hem-to-hip side zips for easier moving,”. I suppose the zippers do help with movement, but they also help officers access a tool of the trade that they wear on a belt on their hip, which sure is the zippers’ primary design function in this warden parka. It actually very nice feature.

Not what they used to be
I sent my parka back. It was not even close in quality or warmth as the old LLB park I bought about 30 years ago.
