Great Style & Fabric, but Oy! the Fit gave me Fits
I ordered both the navy and the camel, both in petite and regular, two different sizes. I was determined to make this work. It just did not. I'm petite, but broad shoulders and a little busty. Not one of those size combinations worked. There was buckling under the neck in the back (note: hunchback look not attractive). It was just sack-like and stiff. It just didn't have the classic but elegant look I wanted. Honestly, I felt like a kid in a coat my mother bought that I could grow into ... and that's weird because technically, they fit. It's just they all looked wrong for one reason or another. I think that the thinsulate is a good idea or warmth, but I think it might be part of the incredibly bulky bulk problem.
I hope LL Bean buyers will rethink the fit and also maybe consider a few other colors. I know there was the rust (hello, 1970, you can take that back now) but would hunter green or WINTER WHITE be impossible? Even if I have a navy and black and camel coat (all of which I now have), I'd def be looking for Winter White...
Oh, there is a happy ending to the LL Bean coat saga: I ended up buying the black watch peacoat which, oddly enough, fit perfectly.

Too boxy
I returned this. Very boxy fit and was unflattering on me even in a petite size. Arms super long and no cinching at waist. Wool is nice and soft though.

Elegant Coat
I love this coat! 100% lambswool with Thinsulate lining is warm and comfortable for moderate winter weather in NJ. Beautifully tailored. Traditional style presents elevated look for work or important social occasions. Size 10 Petite fits perfectly (for reference: 5'4", 125 lbs), with room for winter sweater underneath.

Did not pass
I was bummed that I did not end up keeping the coat as it looked beautiful in the web image. The shoulder area was oddly snug and the quality just wasn't there in comparison to other LL Bean items I own. The color was quite muted and I was hoping for a deeper, rich navy.

Odd proportions for a coat
This wool coat is wide at the shoulders and narrow at the hips. Wasn't designed for this female figure. I returned it, even though I need to replace my previous LLBean wool coat. I'm sad at the lack of quality in general at LLBean.

Beautiful and Warm Full fitting Coat
Beautiful wool fabric, not bulky or heavy in weight, and well-made in every way. It is very warm, I'm sure. My intention was to wear it with dresses and dressier pant outfits - when it's cold in Georgia - (not typical, but it occurs)! It is full cut as opposed to fitted. - Unfortunately, because it is full cut and I wear size 2 Petite, it was too big; it wrapped across the front of my body like a double breasted coat (think, Pea coat style) and so I returned it.
Great Quality wool coat; I have a size 4P Pea Coat from LLBean (same fabric and thinsulate lining)/ After 20 years, it's still in great shape. I wear it, in Georgia's coldest weather and when I travel in colder climates during Fall and Winter. It is a little big now that I'm a size 2 (rather than 4), but the difference is that this 3/4 Polo coat was for dressier occasions - and, on me, looked too big. I needed a size 2P or 0P - which doesn't exist at LLBean. I love LLBean products, of which, I have many.

Love the Material - HATE THE AWFUL FIT!!!
I bought no fewer than 4 wool coats, from J. Crew, LLBean, Nordstroms, and a few others. They are mostly not great. I am 5’10-1/2”, maybe 5’9-1/2” now, I older. Anyway, if you’re are taller like me the coats are all made for average sized women - and that isn’t me. The coats are all too short, make my wrists t stick out too far, way, way too narrow in the shoulder, I just hate it. So in order to have a coat that doesn’t strangle my breasts and armpits I have to order 3 sizes larger than I actually wear, I just wish it had an adjustable belt, then I could be warm without having to wear a heavy sweater under it.. The boiled wool is very good quality. I just wish they could actually fit the coat to the woman. We buy these coats bc of warmth and style. STYLE Folks, Remember that?
