I saw these in the catalog and ordered them immediately. It was one of the fastest decisions I've ever made, about anything - let alone about purchasing something so expensive. I (primarily) loved how they looked and (secondarily) thought they'd be reasonably practical (water-resistant, if not waterproof) black boots for wet and cold weather (I don't drive and spend lots of time walking outside). With no reviews to read yet, I wasn't sure if I'd need a 7 or 7.5 and erred on the big side. I maybe could have done a 7, but the 7.5 will work with bigger socks, which is perfect because these won't be warm. But they're SO cute, like classic engineer boots with a funny, subtle, utilitarian duck-boot twist. The leather uppers are pretty and soft, and they're incredibly easy to pull on and off (I was a little worried about this, needlessly). Most of my pants fit over the shaft part, so I'll need tall socks under my pants (the shafts are loose enough on my legs to feel weird without anything there), but I think you could easily pull these on over skinny jeans if you're my age and you like to wear those. The strap has a few adjustment settings, too. I can tell I'll want to wear them constantly, including with dresses/tights, because I find them so adorable and comfortable. I guess some people might find them a bit chunky (especially if, like me, they order the bigger of their two possible sizes), but I want to assure those people that the chunkiness makes them look cooler. I was right; they're perfect for me; I hope this helps you.
