I really wanted to love this, but.....
I really wanted to love this, but.....it just doesn't work. I bought the small/medium. It is WAY too big for the small and it is way too small for the medium. I love that it's made of the same sturdy canvas and thrilled with the handles. I was intending to switch it around from bag to bag, mostly for the size small ones. Alas, it doesn't work. Honestly I think they need to make one for each size for it to work well.

Love the concept but didn’t care for bottle holder
I purchased insert for my small tote. Btw works well with medium size. After a test run with all my bits and bobs tossed in it I was frustrated to the point of returning the item. The water bottle sleeve took up too much room. Dawned on me there is nothing in the rule book that says I can’t cut out the piece of canvas that functions as the bottle holder. So I did. Granted I could have been neater but the end result is I love the insert now! Fits the small tote much better. Removing the insert gave me more room to tuck items into it. The insert is well made. Stiff so it gives the tote stability. Took off a star only because of the design. 5 stars now that I fixed my issue.

Excellent Way to Organize
One of my first purchase from Bean was a Boat and Tote bag back in the late 70’s that was used primarily as a beach bag. It disappeared somewhere along the way when one of the kids used it during a college move. I finally treated myself to a Medium last month. This insert is the perfect way to take one bag to my part time job, and be able to find everything I need. The water bottle section is a huge help.
I went with the Small/Medium for my Medium tote. The extra space made it easier to create more storage areas.
