Why not 100% Cotton? Why so Narrow Legs??
Decent shorts but the NARROW leg "fit" is not for me. My bad for not looking closely enough at the photo.
Even if these shorts had the same (LARGER) width as with all of the other Bean 100% cotton shorts I own that age well with wear (but are no longer available) I'd still be RETURNING them due to the small but NOTICEABLE (and not in a positive way) amount of elastane ("drill baby, drill!!) in the fabric.
I hardly purchase ANY clothes from Bean as it has jumped the shark and predominantly offers "stretch" products. I prefer 100% cotton that, once again, age well with wear. Nylon doesn't do this at all.
That said, if one likes shorts with TIGHT short legs along with some funky waist buttons allowing one to tighten the waist (I'd prefer if the buttons were relocated to the rear pockets!!) and a relatively heavy manipulated cotton fabric, these shorts should fit the bill.

One of the best men's shorts in a long while.
The fabric is superbe. Just the right weight for an all-around walking/hiking short. I wear them by the ocean and theyre excdllent. Style itself is classic and works anywhere. The shade of green is a rare treasure in men's shorts. Bean hasn't had one like this since the days they sold the Pathfinder model. Inspired by the green, I went ahead and the terra cotta and the graphite. Well worth the color gamble. The size is very true. I had reservations about the buttons, but they work very well. These shorts are a gem.
